Photo of the Day

National Geographic posts a new photo on their website daily.  This particular photo gets me super excited about photography in general because of the waterfall.  I have always wanted to be able to take pictures where the water looks like this.  I have had a overwhelming interest lately in photography(maybe because I just got a new camera).  I took a couple classes in college and took pictures for the paper/yearbook in high school, so I’ve always had the interest.  I have also had the urge to want to learn, not just about photography but about design in general.  I think I just really miss going to school and constantly learning.  So to fulfill both of these urges I am taking a class through a local camera dealer.  It is this Saturday night from 3:30 to 8:00.  I can’t wait!

Best Wild Animal Photos of 2008

When I was a child, I wanted to be a National Geographic photographer.  My great-grandmother had every single issue of National Geographic and my parents had quite a large collection as well.  I used to go through the magazines and stare at the images for hours.  They were (and still are) so amazing.  Today I came across the Best Wild Animal Photos of 2008 and wanted to share.  Below are my two favorites.  The rest can be found here.6_macaque_4614_frog_461

Progress is Beautiful.

Today marks a historic day with the inauguration of President Obama.  During the course of his campaign there has been generous amounts of beautiful graphic design and photography.  These particular photographs were taken by the current White House Photographer, Pete Souza.  Souza received his Master’s Degree from my Alma Mater, Kansas State University.  Below are a few of my favorites.
